There was a Capt. Jabez Fish, b. 10 Jul 1747, New London, CT & buried at Sheshequin, PA. He lived in the Wilkes Barre, PA area (then part of Connecticut) in the latter 1700's and was involved in the famous Wyoming Massacre of 1778 there. His uncle, Elisha Fish was killed in this battle.

He married Sarah Avery, b. 19 Aug 1747, Preston, CT and buried at Wilkes Barre. Their children were:
Jemima, b. abt 1774, Wilkes Barre.
Thomas, b. 1777. He married Martha Reed and Sally Pease and is buried at Springhill, IL.
Sarah, b. 10 Apr 1778, Wilkes Barre. She married Robert Lewis.
Anna, b. 1783.

He then married Susanna Dana, b. 16 Jan 1762, Ashford, CT, dau. of Anderson Dana. Anderson was killed in the massacre. Their children were:
Maria, b. 1796, Sheshequin, PA. She married Jess Brown.
Jabez Jr., b. 1798, Sheshequin, PA. He married Amanda Park.
Diantha, b. 15 Jun 1801, Sheshequin, PA. She married Alvin Dana.
Lemira, b. 1803, Sheshequin, PA. She married Chester Park.

I descend from Thomas Fish and Martha Reed.
