Father of Jonathan Fish (1757 Dighton -1841 Ellisburg)

Trying to learn the parentage of Jonathan Fish, who was a Rev. War patriot in MA and RI.

In “The Fish Family in England and America” Lester Warren Fish gives this lineage:

1. Thomas Fish c1618 England -- 1687 Portsmouth, RI
m. Mary [?]

2. Robert Fish c1665 Portsmouth, RI -- 1730 Portsmouth, RI
m. Mary Hall

3. Daniel Fish 1707 Portsmouth, RI -- 1786 New Ashford, MA
m. Mary Tallman

4. Jonathan Fish 1757 Dighton, MA -- 1841 Ellisburg, NY
m. Lillis Mason

Mr. Fish cites wills and town records to establish the first three of these, but he merely states that Daniel is the father of Jonathan, with no further evidence. In fact, his description of Daniel’s will omits any reference to Jonathan.

Is Mr. Fish correct? Does anybody have any other sources that would prove or disprove this lineage?
