I recently confirmed my GGrandmother, Margrette (Marguerite) Fish who married Samuel Martin Starr in Mills Co. Ia, as the same person listed on the 1880 Macedonia, Pottawattamie, Ia. census and would like information to confirm genealogy of this family. Margrett is listed as the daughter of Abner Fish, 54 (b. 1826)in Ohio. His father and mother both born in Pennsylvania. Wife's name appears to be Manda but it is very hard to read. She is 38 (b. 1842)in Indiana, her father born in Pa. and mother in Ky. Children listed include Grant Fish, 0, b. Ia: Margrett Fish, 9, Ia: Servis? Fish, 7, Ia: Nelson Fish, 5, Ia: Henry Fish, 3, Ia: and most importantly as a clue, there is a brother of Abners listed with the family named Thornton Fish, 59 (b. 1821) in Oh. I know that it is possible that the wife is Amanda Whitsitt but the names of the children and the age of this Abner do not correspond exactly with most of the existing data. I would be very interested in hearing from anyone that shares this direct line. Thanks
