Can't find your message again on Cherokee Family History that was posted June 19, 1998. You offered assistance regarding the Fish family. Elizabeth Fish, B. June 1736; died 1812/1814; her father, Thomas Fish, B. Dec 1703, Died 1786 are in my lineage which I found on FamilySearch.com. I read somewhere that there was a Joseph or Thomas Fish who was a full-blooded Cherokee Indian. I also read that Little Fish Thomas traveled on the Trail of Tears to Okalhoma. He was from the Creek Tribe. Do you think there is any chance that I can establish Cherokee ancestry from these Fish ancestors to be eligible for citizenship in the Cherokee Nation? Or would this be like hunting for a needle in a haystack? I would much appreciate your help. Strange that I saw this. I always wished that I could have been born an Indian.
