Pam, I just think you have the two Garret's reversed but I'm sure your records are correct.
Garret (Gerhart) Fiscus [1725-1797], the immigrant who arrived on the ship Phoenix in 1744, is actually the one whose line is well-documented.In one DAR application his name was spelled Garet Fiskes. He was the tailor indentured as a servant to Conrad Reif for 4 years for 21 pounds "to pay Garret's and his wife's passage from Holland." His wife was Mary Magdalena [-?-]. He lived in Westmoreland Co, PA, where on April 11, 1769, there's a record of a land patent for 380+ acres in the New Purchase, Westmoreland Co. He died in Greensburg, Unity Twp, Westmoreland Co, on November 04, 1797. Mary Magdalena died after 1769.
The older Garret(Gebhardt)Fiscus, arrived on the Loyal Judith in 1743, along with our own Johann Frederick Fiscus. He was born ca. 1695. His wife was Elisabetha according to baptism records at Monocacy Lutheran Church, Frederick Co, MD, on June 08, 1746. (They were sponsors.)The younger Garret Fiscus' wife, Mary Magdalena, was still alive at this time. I think that's why I concluded this was the other Garret who arrived with Johann Frederick in 1743.
I haven't checked Frederick County land records for the older Garret. I suppose he could have lived with Johann Frederick at Cattail Marsh ["Rent Rolls" and "Debt Book Series." Original at MD Archives. Debt Books Liber 22 (1753-1757) Md HR 17,682-3.]
No Fiscus burials are listed in "Names in Stone" for Frederick Co, MD. Perhaps the older Garret went to NC with the rest of the gang.
