Dear William,
I am descended from Violet Firth born 1920 in Barnsley, my understanding is of a strong Jewish connection from the late 18thCent when a man named Bruk, from Austria married into the family. He apparently worked as a Butler in a stately home in the area.
My father was Violet Firth's eldest son and looked exactly like her brother, Harold Firth born 1916 and was often taken as being jewish and so am I.
My father used to tell us he was "Spanish Irish Austrian Jewish"
