The FIRING name comes from Norway. My wife's grandfather came from Trondenhiem (not sure if spelled correctly). He was a sailor (not Navy) and married Hjordis Hjulstad also form the same town. I believe he arrived around the 1920's (since my father-in-law was born in 1934)and settled near Chicago, IL. later moving to Norfolk Va. and passing away 1993 in Virginia Beach, VA.
