I, too, am tied into the Firden's of Pennsylvania. My great-great grandmother, Mary Ann Firden was married to Ebenezer Wells Cornish and is listed in the 1870 census in Elizabeth.
Three other Firdens were in the household, Elizabeth, David and Harry. According to my grandmother Mary Ann had 4 brothers and one sister. Only one of the brothers survived the Civil War(according to my grandmother) so it appears that David and Harry are not both brothers of hers. A possible solution is that they were Mary's children and that her husband died in the Civil War except that my grandmother said Mary Ann married Ebenezer in 1857 in Elizabeth. Any info on her family and parentage would be appreciated. According to 1900 census it appears one of her parents was born in Iowa and one in NY.
