Have only been chasing the Finucane tree for about 5-6 years. My Aunt (A Finucane & my mother's sister)started me off by telling me there was a Finucane that came to Brisbane, Australia, in the late 1800's. This proved to be right & so my journey started.
She sent me a lot of information plus a research from a Crossle. Another Finucane in Brisbane, not related, then gave me another research from a Mott. Then had to get a 'Family Tree Maker' software to cope with all the info. With all the info from three huge sources plus the internet have been able to trace back about 32 generations. So many finucanes !!!
Also was able to get data on my Father's side & cousins side (Broadbent).
Have downloaded a Gedcom file with "Rootsweb". If you connect to them you will get the whole lot. There are a few mistakes & also some data that may be different to other referances because there are differences in the information from the various sources.
There is also a lot of Finucane data on "FamilySearch".
If you can trace your side back to
Morgan Finucane b (abt) 1574 and further
m. Mary McMahon 1578 Co. Clare
you'd be on the same track as my line.
If you need any more information, would be happy to assist.
Give me some names, dates, etc I will see if there is a connection. It is easy to find on Family Tree Maker if you even have one connecting link.
