Hi My g grandfather was John Finucane, born 24 sept 1849 Brackile farm Limerick Ireland. His parents were John Finucane and Bridget Ryan, married 1845 parish of Pallasgrean and Templebredon romas Catholic. I have a letter written by him in which he states that his father died when he was 4years old and his mother remarried-Thomas Ryan (maybe a cousin). Bridget died 21 May 1863. my g grandfathers sisters were Joanna and Ellen. Children from his mothers second marriage were Kate, Margaret and Bridget Ryan. John states in his note that he believed that the girls still living had gone to America. On John Finucanes baptism the sponsors were Edmond and Margaret Finucane. On the marriage cert of John and Bridget the witnesses were James Ryan and Mary Ryan. My grandmother used to tell me the family was originally from france and came over with William the Conquerer. I would love any information. My g grandfather emigrated to Australia and married Margaret Holmes. Happy to share any info
