David and Margaret 'Maggie' Finnie were my grandparents. I knew my uncles Sandy, John, Gordon, and Leslie, who I thought was the youngest. I was also told that a brother had emigrated to Australia but they had lost touch, and relatives in Canada was mentioned. I also think a brother had died in childhood aged about ten, but not sure about that. The aunts I knew were Margaret, Bessie and Grace, and my mother was Jessie, born 1916. I did not know that there were 13 siblings. We have been trying to research a possible family connection with Finnies in service at Straloch House near New Machar, aberdeenshire, who traveled to New York regularly in the early 1900's as valets and coachmen. olwyn.
