Hello Mike...was thrilled to hear Finnie family members still exist as my 2 brothers and i are the last in the Finnie line from Robert Jamieson Finnie. I was curious about who your wife's father is...perhaps he would be someone my dad may have mentioned. Thomas from Scotland was my great great grandfather and my grandfather told us he was a mining superintendent. My brother, Thomas, has a phone directory from Airdrie, Scotland he obtained when he was there and did a little research on the family actually looking at Scottish records. He is not a genforum user but was very interested in what info you have and asked that i send him your info so he may write to you directly when he has time. We are wondering if James was Alex's (my great grandfather)brother. That would put your wife and us in the same generation i believe. Please send what info you have,, and we are also curious about Scott Arkwright's connection in all this. If Thomas or I can help you in any research on our end.. let me know..I have all the photgraphs from my family that extend further back than anyone could name..as my grandfather wasn't much interested in labeling pics and practically blind and couldn't see when we pressed for names years ago. I probably have pics of your wife's people and don't know who they are!! We are looking forward to hearing from you...and thank you for responding!
