Hi George! This searching for ancestors is really something isn't it ? I don't know if we can help each other or not but I have been searching out my mother's side of our family for sometime now. She is a Finnie and is 87 years old. We are located in London Ontario.Through a wonderful lady in Scotland by the name of Alison Anderson, she was able to very quickly find all our my direct Finnie relatives right back to my great-great-great-great grandparents and all their sons and daughters.Alison can be reached through the bulletin board for the Finnie family on the website familyhistory.com. You will see all the messages from people who are also researching the Finnie name. I don't know if this is of any help to you or not but my great-grandfather,William Andrew Finnie emigrated from Aberdeenshire Scotland to the Stratford Ontario area. He was married in Stratford to my great-grandmother Fannie Jane Youngs on March 17th,1875 at the age of 24. Fannie was 22 years of age. They both lived, farmed, raised a family and died in the Thedford Ontario area. My biggest problem in this regard right now is trying to find my grandmother Julia Louise Finnie (maiden name Johnston). She died giving birth to my mother's sister Hazel Louise Finnie sometime after 1914.Hazel and Louise both died at the same child birth. My mother was raised by a stepmother and we would like to find out where her biological mother is buried. So far we have struck out. If you can shed any light on this search please let me know. Best of luck with your search. Alison is a very busy person but she may be able to help or worst case put you in touch with someone in Scotland who can. Who knows maybe we are related and we just don't know it yet? Alison tells me we still have direct relatives living in Scotland which she will hopefully put us in touch with soon. Hope to hear from you soon. Joe Barnes
