In the 1789 census of Shenandoah County, VA there is an Isaac Zane listed with five other men including an Archibald Finley. I have been searching for some time for my ancestor Archibald Finley who is know to have lived in Shenandoah. He would have been 45 years old at that time. Could Archibald and the others have been workers at the Marlboro Ironworks? Did county boarders change which could account for them being in Shenandoah County and not Frederick County? Thank You.
