Finlay Family Genealogy Forum

Dear Shirley, I do not know. All I know about Eliza Taylor is that she was born in 1812 in Ireland and that she married John Finlay in Antrim County in abt 1834. I do not know her parents and I could not find her or John in the 1834 Cencus of Antrim. We have always thought that they were Irish Catholics but have only recently discovered that this was incorrect and that they were Presbyterian. The names that have been carried through are James, John, William and Taylor has been carried down a few generations as a middle name.
I went to Ireland a 2 years ago but unfortunately had very little time to do any family history and found nothing. This couple has been a Brick wall to me ever since I starting tracing the family. The interesting thing is that Eliza Taylor & John did have a daughter Mary Jane Finlay. The use of the name Jane may mean that there possibly is a connection.
You can email me direct if you feel that this is worth following though on. I am hoping to get back to Ireland some time this year and any information that I can gather will help me and possibly help you.
Regards Judy
