Magnus John (?) Biorklund (1847 - 1900?)

According to a copy of a marriage certificate I have he was born Boigo (?) Finland about 1847. Parents are listed as Maria Biorklund (maiden name Lind) and John Biorklund, a farmer.
Magnus married my Great Great Grandmother Catherine Fox in Matakana New Zealand on March 21st 1892.
I'm assuming that he came to New Zealand on a ship in the late 1800's but I cannot find any information on that. Can anyone help me with information on how to go about searching for details about his family tree in Finland. Is there actually a place called Boigo in Finland (I'm struggling to find any information on his birthplace)?
