Hi I'm glad I could help. You can search Kokkola/Karleby records here (I hope) http://hiski.genealogia.fi/hiski/-3stl1b?en+0172 Usually the father's first name and patronym are required. It also helps if you only enter the mother's first name, since it is most often the only informaton recorded with christenings (and sometimes there's no mother's name at all, for some reason.) I cannot offer an explanation as to how (or if) the name Lidsle changed to Lidstedt. Lidsle was the name of the farm, and in those days people adopted/ were known by the names of the farms. My guess is her name changed when she moved to Sweden, possibly by mistake? Lidsle and Lidstedt are quite similar, in my opinion. And to be quite honest, that's what I based my search and conclusions on on... Here's a link to some information about the Lidsle farm: http://sydaby.eget.net/swe/jp_rodso.htm A link to the emigrant database (cannot access it myself at the moment, though): http://www.genealogia.fi/emigrants/indexe.htm I hope she realy is the person you are looking for. Good luck H Notify Administrator about this message?
