Holm / Wuorenmaa. Brooklyn NY. 1940's
I am searching for more leads to find info, perhaps a marriage or family for Isak (Albin) Wuorenmaa. We have old Finnish letters that mention him.
I am also looking for info on Anton Holm with address in 1942 at 755-42 St, Brooklyn NY.
Anton Holm's name is listed on the 1942 WWII Registration card for Isak Albin Wuorenmaa-as a "person who will always know your address."
Albin Wuroenmaa's card states he lived at 677- 40th- Street and possibly also at 721- 41st street in Brooklyn. There are 2 addresses on the card.
On the WW II registration card, Albin Wuorenmaa's age is 48, born Jakobstad Finland on July 3, 1894. His father may be Isak Wuorenmaa born 18 July 1859 Lapua, Finland- info found in the Finnish records. I can not find Albin's birth in the Finnish records in Jakobstad or surrounding areas.
Albin Wuorenmaa lists his employer- Joe De Angelo, at 2274 Brigham Ave, Brooklyn Kings NY. What type of employment is this?
In a 1921 letter we have about Albin, he had an address at 529 Clinton St- possibly the Seamen's Mission. Was Albin a sailor?
How is Anton Holm related to Albin Wuorenmaa? Are they in-laws? Related?
I cannot find an immigration record for Albin Wuorenmaa born 1894. It's possible his father Isak W. born 1859 came to Canada and/or California.
The SSDI gives the date of death for Albin Wuorenmaa as July 1964. Age 70. Birth date July 2, 1894.
Is Albin Wuorenmaa listed on a Brooklyn City Directory?
The area around Sunset Park was settled with Finnish immigrants.
