Alicia-
I don't know if this is of any help, I believe that Victor Hiskiaus Mäki was a Ward of the State in 1910- I found him in the 1910 Hampshire Co, Mass Census stating such (If you look, I might be off a little- I'm going on memory here, but it sounds about right to me at the moment.)I didn't see Virra on there, but I'm lead to believe either Virra was lead off by her father to out west, or by other family members?Or maybe like servitude under a particular family?I'm not sure.I'm not surprised to know that the family didn't live together for very long, they were sort of like "stray dogs" always moving about, and never together- my grandmother used to comment she could never keep a leash on Victor!
One day, they'll get Genforum right!
