Hi,
there is certainly no such thing as a Mongolian Finn. This is based on an old theory of the origin of the Finnish people being far a way in Russia. There certainly are languages related to Finnish in Russia but genetically the Finns are related to the Swedes and other European people. This theory did however, create a lot of confusion in the US. You can read more about this in the first chapter of The History of the Finns in Michigan.
There is, as far as I know, no such place as Kuni in Finland. What comes to my mind is Kuru but perhaps someone else has other suggestions. Jussila is a very common name in Finland, appearing all around the country.
Are you familiar with www.genealogia.fi ? I suggest you join the Finngen mailing list and check the Hiski database which does not, however, have much data for the 1890´s yet. There is one Toivo born the day you mention, found in the Hiski database. No Matti in the family, however.
I´m afraid you need either very good luck or some more information from your end to find them.
Good luck,
Merja Syrjämäki
