Hi Barbara,
I'm so glad that you answered. I can go back as far as Johannes Philipp Finckel b.1685 Pfalz, Bayern, Germany from the Palatine Region. He arrived in the great immigration to the US in 1709. Then there was Johannes Philipp Finckel b.1712, Johannes "Joost" Finkle b. 1748, Nicholas Finkle b. 1782, Isaac Finkle b.1820, John Finkle b.1847, Samuel Finkle b. 1871, my gg, Ralph Chester Finkle b. 1893 and then my gm, Helen Mae Finkle b. 1914. I have tied the connection between the Finkles in PA and in Canada. The kids went different directions. We have a huge family tree.
One of the questions I have is was everyone Lutheran? I was wondering if anyone was Jewish in our family? It looks like there was a tremendous conversion when the Finckles/Finkles came to the states.
