My husband's family are Finke's from Germany. Christian, b. 1847, Germany, m. Sophia Conradi in 1867 in NY. We really don't know anything about them before 1867, or who thier parents, etc. were. My father-in-law still can speak low German, his mother spoke very fluent German. They have been in the US since the 1860's. The family thinks they came from Germany, but maybe the Flanders area of Belgium. Any information?
