My grandfather was Heinrich Wilhelm Christian Finke. He lived in the St. Louis, Missouri area in the 1860's. He was in partnership in several wholesale grocery stores. He also spent some time in the New Melle, Missouri area. He finally settled in the Burger (Union County) area of Missouri.

He was born on January 9, 1835 and died August 26, 1927. I don't know if he was born in America or in Germany. Family oral history saays he was born in Germany. But it also said his wife was born in Germany and I found records showing she was born in New Melle, Missouri.

He married Hanna (possible Anna) Maria Louise Hardach. I do not know their marraige date. She was born on June 24, 1842. Died March 25, 1922.

Heinrich Wilhelm Christian Finke, according to family oral history, had brothers. Some of whose descendants ended up in the Syracuse, Nebraska area.
