Cathrine Finnegan - 1838 New York harbor from Cork Ireland
Posted by: Joseph Finigan (ID *****7015) Date: December 20, 2009 at 12:48:42

Looking for information concerning Cathrine Finnegan who together with 15 children (ages 6 to 12 years old) arrived in New York harbor from Cork Ireland in 1838.

Sorry my family history is a bit sketchy here.

Most if not all of the 15 children were placed in an orphanige. 1 of the eldest children, Harry Finnegan was allowed to leave and moved to San Francisco, Ca at a young age. The spelling of the family name was then changed to FINIGAN
