laoch is not from the latin. Fionnlagh - Fionnladh - Fionnlidh, as you know these spellings are synonymous terms. This is the true etymiligy fion or fionn does mean fair or light and it is gaelic but lugh, lagh, lidh, is not from the latin it is also from the gaelic wird for hero: lugh. Lugh was the sun god of the ancient gaelic peoples. This has always been the accepted etymology of the name.
