Charles Find of Texas
Posted by: Dana Garcia (ID *****5915) Date: July 23, 2003 at 20:04:15

My surname, Finn, was once Find. My grandfather, Thurmon J. Finn, changed it as did many of his siblings.
I have found my great great grandparents in the 1880 census. They are Charles Find, b. 1857, both his parents born in PRUSSIA and Bertha Find, b. 1859, both of her parents born in BOHEMIA. It list Charles and Bertha as both being born in, and still living in, TEXAS.
My ancestor is their son, Ernest Find, b. 3/16/1896, he married Alice Burttschell, b.Sep 2 1902 in Texas.

At some point Ernest and Alice divorced. I would really like to find the first generation, which I am assuming would be the parents of Charles and Bertha, that came to America.

I would appreciate any information, thanks
