I'm having the hardest time narrowing down my FINCHAM line and I need some new ideas, or preferably to locate someone who is of the same line :-) (It could be my lucky day!)
This is what I know:
Caroline Marian FINCHAM born Nov, 2, 1864 Kent Co., England to Jane FINCHAM - no father listed on birth record
Caroline married John PEEBLES May 17, 1881 in St. Clair
Co., MI
**marriage records show the marriage took place at the 'residence of the Bride's Father'. It also list an Edward FINCHAM, resident of Canada, as a witness.
Caroline and her husband John then show up in subsequent Canadian census records. Basically, they hopped the border between MI and Canada frequently.
Is Edward FINCHAM her father or brother? I have not found Edward or Caroline FINCHAM in either the 1880 US census or 1881 Canadian census. If Edward is her father, why is he not listed on her birth record?
To further to complicate things: on birth records for Caroline FINCHAM's children her name is given as Caroline FINCHAM CRAIG (but she was only 18 when she married John)?
I'm so confused...anybody?
