Donna: From what I can see George Washington Thornton Fincham is most likely the Washington Thornton Finchum who married Almira Tennessee Jenkins 2-26-1864 in Rappahannock County. He is listed as the son of ? and Edna Finchum. It is most likely John Finchum who is his father. If so-it is likely the same John (and Edna)who I believe are my gr-gr-gr-grandparents. I first see him as Washington T. Fincham enumerated in the 1850 Rappahannock census in the household of Presley and Elizabeth Haines. Elizabeth Haines was the widow of of William Fincham according to records. Washington T. is most likely her grandson. I later see marriage records for Armistead Booten Finchum to Ada Printz in Rappahannock 6-29-1890 where he is listed as the son of G. W. and Almira Fincham and Eustace Leake to Elvira Finchum in Rappahannock 10-29-1890 where she is listed as the daughter of Geo. W. and Tennessee Finchum.
As far as William Tazewell Fincham is concerned I see two marriage records for men of this name: 1)12-27-1867 to Mary Frances Noakes where he is listed as the son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Finchum 2) 6-21-1870 to Caroline Hester Jenkins where he is listed as the son of Caroline Fincham. Two different W.T's since their age is listed as 22 in each record. The first William who married Mary Noakes apparently had one daughter, Abbie Laura, who married Amos Henry Aylor 9-17-1895 - she is listed as the daughter of William T. and Mary Finchum.
Hope this helps,
Bill Fincham
