I'm looking for relatives of Cpt.Henry S. Finch, b.Dec.12,1850, location:??, son of Naison(?) and Ester Finch. Siblings of Henry are William, b.1847,James, b.1849, George, b.1854, Alta, b.1858 and Fred, b.1862.
Henry S. Finch Jr. was born at the U.S. Life Saving Station at Manistee, Michigan, June 28, 1887. Both he, his father, grand father, and possibly, ggfather, were hard helmet divers. The first one allegedly went down in diving bells in the British Navy.
Henry Sn. and family came west from Michigan to the northwest, eventually settled in Seattle, Washington after returning from Nome, Alaska in 1905. They worked in salvaging and marine construction up and down the west coast until the early 1960's.
Henry Jr. was my grandfather and with his wife Ann (Hand) Finch, spent his last years between Bainbridge Is. and Seattle.
