Hi Dave I am glad the information has helped. I kept running into his name and thought it would helpful to share. About the Grant Petition information. The film number is refering to the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick (PANB) number. I have included the link below where you can search the information, as well as obtain a copy. I have viewed the document and it may give some insight into why he left NB. Someone had told me one time he didn't leave because of lack of land but because of Religious freedom. I can't give you a source or a person who told me but I seem to remember someone saying he had written a letter to Govenor Carleton requesting the Government reconize the Baptist faith. Don't quote me on that but I mention it because it rings a bell. The website is down, I will post it later. I also have found the following. There are four deeds for Titus Finch at the York County Registry Office in Fredericton. It appears he left New Brunswick in 1799 not 1798. Also his wife did not go by the name Nancy she went by the name Ann. 1st deed. Dated Oct 23, 1793. Registered Jan 29, 1794.(Book #1 Page 415 Y.C.R.O) From Titus (Yeoman) and Ann Finch to Richard Murphy for 10 pounds. Titus was in the Light Infantry company of The Prince of Wales American Regiment. 2nd deed. Dated May21 1787. Registered Jan 29, 1794.(Book 1 Page 416 YCRO) From William Turner to Titus Finch for 6 pounds 5 shillings. 3rd deed. Dated Feb 6, 1794. Registered July 24 1799. (Book 2 Page 81 YCRO) From John Barrett to Titus Finch 4th deed. Dated Aug 10,1999. Registered April 2, 1800. (Book 2 Page 99 YCRO) From Titus & Ann Finch to Richard Murphy. These are in order in which they were Registered in the York County Registry Office (YCRO) The deeds describe the land he occupied and how much land there was. I hope this info. helps. I will post the website when it becomes available. Norm... www.DeMerchant.com
