I have never known a middle name for my Alva Finch. His father was David, and he had a brother George. His sons were John Alva, Samuel, Frank, David and Ernest. I've never seen an Orville in any of the Finch names that I know about. I know my Alva was born, married and died in Whitley County, IN, but don't know if he ever lived in Illinois. I would be interested to know anything you have to find out whether it's possibly the same person. Mine was born in 1852 and died in 1921, so that would be the correct time frame. Who was your great-grandmother? Maybe her name will click with others in my database. Did she have any connections to Indiana? Please let me know. (mblanch@tu.infi.net).
