Ralph,
My G-Grandfather was Ezekiel Mace. One of his daughter's was Amanda Mace, who married George Washington Finch in Lamar County, AL. They later moved to AR where Amanda died. George then remarried. I just found a Ethel Watson Finch (male), who died in Los Angeles in 1946 ( born 05/23/1875), whose dad was George and mother was listed as Mace- obviously Amanda. Amanda had a brother Martin Watson Mace, my Granddad. I don't have my research in front of me now but George and Amanda lived with her parents immediately after marriage according to the census records. I believe the Finch family had moved from GA to AL. The name Ethel was used several times by the Maces, but I haven't found out why yet. Check Lamar County, AL( may have been called Sanford County then)census in 1870 for George. I believe his parents were on a page close to the listing of the Mace family. I believe UsGenweb.com. has it.
