My name is Duane R. Finch and I have information on Daniel O. Finch and his wife, Ellen Maria Calder Finch. D.O. Finch was a lawyer in Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa. He was born 06 JUN 1829 in Unadilla NY son of David and Ruth Ann (Mallory) Finch. He died 20 NOV 1906 in San Francisco,on a visit. He married Ellen Calder - 16 SEP 1852. She was a daughter of Joseph Calder of NY. The father of D.O. Finch died when Daniel O. was 11 years old. His mother sent him to Deleware Institute where he studied law in the office of Judge C.K. Noble in Unadilla NY. He graduated in law in 1848 and removed to Greene County, Wisconsin, until 1851. Removed to Cedar Rapids Iowa in 1851 and subsequently to Des Moines in 1853. He had five sons.
I am interested to know how much you would like for these photos. How large are they?
The Iowa Historical Society in Des Moines has a large library. If the price of these photos is reasonable I would see they get to the Iowa Historical Library.
