Bud Joseph Fillyaw, 27, of Dushore lost his courageous battle to cancer on Jan. 31, 2009, at his home surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born on Oct. 28, 1981, in Columbus, Ga., to Kathy Dieffenbach Fillyaw. He graduated from Sullivan County High School in 2000.

He worked for Design Homes in Berwick for a number of years before going to work for Osmose, where he became a foreman just before his illness.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and especially with his nieces Torrance and Samantha.

Surviving are: his mother, Kathy; brother, Dustin (Amanda) Marotti of Dushore, Pa.; nieces, Samantha and Torrance; grandmother, Dorothy Dieffenbach; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was predeceased by his grandfather, Bud J. Dieffenbach.

Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at the Russell P. McHenry Funeral Home, 119 Carpenter St., Dushore, Pa. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Randele Albers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be directed to "FJC/Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative" in Bud's memory. The Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative, 17 Bethea Dr., Ossining, N.Y. 10562-1620.
