I am descended from Daniel Fillmore's brother, Milan Lucian Fillmore.I recently found the web page "An American Family of Fillmore:Woodsmen...early Mormon Pioneers..."
It has wonderful information....a few errors.A couple of times in the narrative it lists Daniel Babcock Fillmore's wife as Martha Minerva Calkins, rather than Thankful Ann Grant.Martha was definitely his mother. She is buried in Payson by both sons Daniel and Milan and daughter-in-law Thankful Ann.Since most of the time, the site correctly lists Martha Calkins as the wife of John Fillmore, I assume these errors were merely typing errors.Just want to make sure the error is not perpetuated, as many are through the internet.I am looking for any and all relatives who can giveme specific scource information especially as it relates to Daniel Babcock Fillmore's days in Nauvoo and with the early Mormons.I know Milan and Daniel and their families went by wagon train to Utah in 1860.I need earlier information. Also, if anyone has similar information with sources regarding their maternal grandfather Israel Calkins I would be thrilled! My Uncle Ross (William Rosland Fillmore) was the author of "Fillmores, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow. It is now reprinted and also available on CD.I am currently the president of the Milan Lucian Fillmore Association.I can be contacted [email protected]
