The Laughton's, now Layton, had numerous ties to the Filgo family in Bertie County, NC in the early 1800's. James Laughton, my GGGGGG grandfather married Mary Filgo, Wiliam Cake Filgo's sister. His sister Ann, married William Cake Filgo.William Cake Filgo's other sister,Ann; married Moses Todd. I have a copy of the division of the estate of David Filgo, of Wake County, NC in which William Filgo, Moses Todd & James Laughton agree to divide the estate.
