Hi Linda
Thanks for your reply. This is definitely the right geography. All I know is that my Henry File was born c. 1845-50 and was a carpenter. His wife died when my grandmother Lillian was quite young. She had 2 older brothers Charles and Homer. After her mother's death she was raised by her maternal aunt Julie Hill (wife of Thomas) in Hillsborough, named after this Hill. I don't have any more specific dates and can't find this family via 1880 census. I am very interested in any information you might have. (It is possible that Henry and his wife immigrated from Germany>)
Thanks, Pam
