In Reply to: Vogt's/Fight/ that sailed from Rotterdam by Mrs. Pat DeArman Fite of 94

It is my understanding that the Johannes Vogt, who sailed on the Lydia from Rotterdam to Philadelphia on October 13, 1749, was subsequently known as Johannes "Veit." He attended the same church (the St. James Lutheran Church, also known as the "Straw" Church) in Greenwich, NJ, as did Johannes "Fite" Vogt.

Johannes Veit was born in Butzendorf, Germany in 1714 and died in Greenwich, NJ on April 19, 1790.

He had a brother Daniel (I think).
