Naomi,
Have you seen the 1810 Breckinridge Co Ky census it lists a George Figgins: 2101020010
It shows him having 2 son b 1800-1810 1 son b 1794-1800 and George b 1765-1784 2 dau b 1800-1810 and wife 1765-1784
I am serching for a Serena Fagan/listed as Weaks on marriage record, mother of Sarah Fagan who married James Hargan in Hardin co Ky 1812, Serena Gave written Consent for her daughter to marry.
I think it is possible that Sarah Fagan was a Figgins and the name was mispelled. Sarah and James had several children 2 unnamed sons b 1812-1820 1 unnamed dau b 1812-1820 a son James b 1824, daughters Elizabeth 1826, Margaret b 1828 and Katherine Ann b 1834 (Kitty Ann) who married William W Wise in Hardin Co Ky my ggrandparents.
I am interested in these Figgins and others because they are the only family nearby that would fit. The George Figgins in 1810 Breckinridge Co Ky seems like a good possibility to be Serena's brother or brother in Law. Serena would have been b abt the same time as George to have a dau of marrying age by 1812.Serena Could even be George's widow. He is not found after 1810. I guess she could even be old enough to be George's mother since I do not know how old she actually was, I do not know why she is listed as Serena Weaks in the marriage record, I have not found any other concrete evidence of her. I did find a Serena Fagan in 1850 Hardin Co Ky census in home of Seth Burris 49 Ky, Ann 34 Ky, Lewis F 18 ky, Daniel M 16 Ky and James H 13 Ky.
There are 3 Figgins men in Perry Co In in 1840 census
John who is 30-40 b 1800-1810
Daniel with 2 men in home 20-30 both men b abt 1810-1820,
The 3rd unnamed man on 1840 census probably William as he shows up on 1850 census as 49 yrs b 1801 Ky.
What do you think?
