Zoe,

No, William M. Phyfe is not an ancestor of mine. I'm interested in the line because of the marriage of Rachel Phyfe to David Thom. My husband descends from Charles A. Thom of Scotland, the father of David Thom.

Since posting this message, I've made contact with another Thom cousin on the West Coast who has a lot of information on the Thoms in the NYC area.

Are you related? Or married to someone who is? Was their last name originally Thom? If so, a small group of us have gathered quite a bit of history, including photos, of the Thom family from Stonehaven and Edinburgh, Scotland and will be happy to share it. My husband and I are leaving for Scotland in a few days; a few of our destinations will be the places where the Thoms lived.

Thanks again for the information.

Aloha,
Kathy
