Some time ago my husband bought a vintage gold pocket watch. Inside it is inscribed as follows:

Presented To
John Fielding
on his
21st Birthday
Feb 8th 1922
by
His Mother

The initials JF are inscribed in an elaborate stylised fashion on the back of the watch. Unfortunately his mother's name is not given. The watch was bought at auction in Gt.Britain. We would like to know anything relating to this person & how such a personal effect ended up being auctioned. We have no relationship to any Fielding family.
