I have come to own a book titled "Fieldings Historical Gleanings Vol 1", dated 1852. The author, Joseph Fielding, provides a amongst other information a brief autobiographical account on his family history. In brief he identifies the following:

His grandfather was James Fielding, born 1745 at Bleakett Farm, Milnrow, in the township of Butterworth, and parish of Rochdale. His (JAMES) parents were Jonathan and Mary Fielding: they rented the farm until 1764, when they moved to the Toutchet Hall Farm, near Tandle Hills, in the township of Thornham.

Joseph's father, also named Jonathan was born in 1777; died at Prestwich, on the 10th October 1837.

Joseph was born at Middleton, on the 14th April, 1800.

I do hope that someone finds this useful.
