Harold Lavasso Field, Travis, Ketcham
Posted by: L A Losh (ID *****2090) Date: September 11, 2011 at 11:44:37

I am searching for the birthplace and parents of Catherine Ketcham Travis and Martha (x) Travis. They are ancestors of Harold Lavasso Field (Rochester, Monroe, NY). I'm hoping a relative of his may hold the key.

In 1961, Harold Lavasso Field applied for and became a member of the Sons of the American Revolution by his relationship to Zebulon Travis who served in the AR in Westchester County, NY. The application reveals the names of Catherine and Martha but I cannot find anything about their heritage.

Parents of Harold: Lovasso Field 1849 (NJ)- 1918 (Ohio) and Alice Bell Virginia Heermans 1850 (Va) -1941 (Pa)

Parents of Alice Bell: John Heermans 1814 (Pa)-1882 (NY)and Nancy Travis 1829 (Pa)-1901 (NY)- Nancy is 2nd wife of John.

Parents of Nancy: Father - Levi Travis b. 5 Dec 1789 Bedford, NY and d. 30 Oct 1855 Abington, Pa.
Mother - Catharine Ketcham b. 24 July 1787 (place unknown) and died 7 Aug 1868 Benton T., Pa.

I cannot find anything about who Catherine's parents may be.

Parents of Levi:
Father - Zebulon Travis b. 8 Oct 1755 Westchester Co, NY and died 29 June 1826 Bedford, NY. He & wife Martha are buried at Chestnut Hill Cemetary in Bedford, NY.
Mother - Martha (maiden name unknown, may be Searles) b. 19 Aug 1762 (place unknown) and died 23 Dec 1842 in Bedford NY.

I'm looking for Martha's maiden name, place of birth, and parents.

Thank you.
