This information was sent to me to see if I might be able to make a connection with this family, but my JOHN FIELD, was b. abt. 1790 (in Phila.) and didn't fit in with this research. FIELD, Clayton, NJ, June 9, 2003) * collection of genealogy records given to EDMUND FIELD from EDNA FIELD YOUNG. Two hundred years ago, the first of the FIELD family arrived in this country. JOHN PETER (PHIEL) German FIELD in 1738 arrived on "Palestine.: WALTER GOODMAN, Commander, from Rotterdam last from Dover, 330 passengers on the ship ROBERT and OLIVER. 1744 - RUDOLPH FIELD arrived in Phila. on ship Phoenix (WILLIAM WILSON, captain) Oct. 20, 1744 sailing from Rotterdam via Cowes England. RUDOLPH FIELD married MADALEN VEIL. 1734 - PAUL FIELD his son born 1734, married MARY BIFAR, April 2, 1771, died April 6, 1832. 1772 - RUDOLPH FIELD son of PAUL & MARY BIFAR, born July 9, 1772, married CATHERINE YOUNG. RUDOLPH died Apr. 30, 1840, 68 years. His wife died Aug. 12, 1849. 1774 - JOSEPH born July 9, 1774 1775 - CATHERINE born Nov. 12, 1775 1785 - JOHN born Feb. 12, 1785 1788 - CHARLES born May 14, 1788 1793 - PETER born July 28, 1793 1795 - LAURENCE born June 23, 1795 1797 - STEPHEN born June 3, 1797 1799 - MARY REGINA born Nov. 3, 1799 Note on genealogy report: When RUDOLPH (1744) last name was spelled PHIEL on the Phoenix passenger list. When he bought a farm in the village of Passyunk (Philadelphia) it was spelled FIEL. When he died it was spelled FIELD. CHILDREN OF RUDOLPH FIELD (b. PAUL FIELD, age 98 years much respected in his neighborhood and how fought and bled at the Battle of Brandywine and Trenton, and also the Battle of Germantown to secure the liberties we now enjoy. The records of the Union Burying ground on the 6th St. below WASHINGTON Ave., Phila. April 7, 1832. PAUL FIELD, old age, 98 years.
