This morning at 9 o'clock, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Draper, on North High Street, occurred the marriage of Reverend George Fidler, of Decatur City, Iowa, and Miss. Winnifred J. Draper, of this city. The ceremony, rendered by Reverend L.M. Krider, of Grace M.E. Church, this city, was beautiful and impressive. It was witnessed by about thirty-five guests and friends of the bride and groom. The young couple were the recipients of many presents, beautiful and useful. After the marriage a light lunch was served.
Neither bride nor groom need any introduction to the people of this city, both having resided here for some years. Since last September, Mr. Fidler has been the Pastor of the Decatur City Charge in the Iowa Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Miss. Draper has for several years been a popular and efficient teacher in the public schools of Hartford City. Both are deservedly popular and much appreciated in the church circles of Grace Church, where, in Epworth League and Sunday School they were ever in the front rank. It is confidentially expected that they will be successful in the field to which they have been called by the church.
Amid a shower of rice and followed by the prayers and best wishes of a host of friends, Mr. and Mrs. Fidler boarded the 11:33 a.m. train for Chicago, whence they will go to Decatur City, Iowa, their new home.
