Susan Fickes is listed on the social security death index, b. 28 May 1873, d. July 1968, residence was Annandale, Fairfax, VA. (Maybe she moved the last few years of her life?) Social security was issued in 1966 in VA. If you order a copy of her application, it would most likely list the name of her spouse. The application now costs about $25- up from $7 on June 30. Or, you may try the local newspaper for an obituary, and the county courthouse for a death certificate. These should cost less than the SS app. Good Luck!
