No, Eve's last name is not given. Have you visited the genealogy library in Evansville? Evansville is in Vanderburgh (sp.) now but may have been Warrick formerly. I suspect since Valentine Sr (d. 1844) married a second time someone (Elizabeth Merritt) from Warrick Co and since his son died there and had also married another Merritt woman, he and Eve probably lived there for awhile. The book suggests Eve may have died in IN. Have you researched the Hay family in Warrick County or Vanderburgh? I searched genealogy library catalog for Hay but did not find anything pertinent. However, there may be some histories or other books that have sections on the Fickes and Hay families. There's a great book called The Valentine and Catherine
Hay Family in America which delineates the lines of 5 Valentines, stopping before it gets to my Valentine b. 1815. The book memtnions a woman in Evansville was working on the line stemming from the Valentine of Breckinridge Co. I've been unable to find the woman, but I imagine her descendants are in Evansville still. E-mail me privately at I'll tell you what I've already done and how we might solve this together.
