The Feigers emigrated to the United States in 1831. The earliest record uncovered indicates that the Feiger family was living in Upper Windsor, York County, Pennsylvania in 18401.

Sometime between 1840 and 1853 the Feigers moved to Ohio. On 1 April 1853 George Feiger purchased 80 acres of land from Andrew Ruger and wife in Meigs County, Ohio2. In 1860
