I have a tattered photograph of a man standing beside an ornate chair. Some thoughtful ancestor wrote on the back:
"Joacim W. Fetzer, son of Benj. and Eliza Fetzer was born 1824 near Fountain Church in Harrison Co. At the age of seventeen he joined the M.E. Church. He served with the 13th Indiana Cavalry during the Civil War.
"He died Oct 3, 1901. Funeral was preached by Revs .M. Rumbley and Robert . Rusk. Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery.
"This is his Civil War uniform."
He is my grandmother's grandfather. I hope this proves useful to someone else. I'd offer to e-mail a copy, but alas, my scanner is on the fritz.
