PERHAPS WE ARE YOUR LOST BRANCH OF THE FETTERLY/CASSELMAN CLAN: Hello--I live in the Seattle, Washington area. I'm the great-granddaughter of John Lever Fetterly & his wife, Mina Casselman. I've always been told that our branch of the family came from Nova Scotia, or thereabouts, in Canada.

Family lore has it that John Lever Fetterly left the area after some sort of family feud that involved a large lumber mill the Fetterly's owned. John Lever Fetterly worked as a filer of the great bandsaws that were in the lumber mills around Vancouver, BC and on Vancouver Island, BC. For some reason, he and Mina relocated to Seattle, Washington (to a part of town known as Ballard) in the early 1880s. I have also heard rumors that some Fetterly ancestor was a Hessian.

John Lever Fetterly & Mina Casselman had 4 daughters and two sons. The youngest son, Roy Fetterly, was my grandfather. Roy married Helen (Rebecca Enoch) Conger (who supposedly was from Missouri). They had 4 sons: Clair (my father--deceased), Lloyd (deceased), Robert, and William. We all live in the Puget Sound area of Washington State. My father, Clair Fetterly, married Henrietta Virginia Eastman from Nebraska. They had myself, my brother (Garth Eastman Fetterly), and my sister (Carol Fetterly Sewell). There are several cousins here (3 sons of Lloyd Fetterly, 3 sons of William Fetterly). There are also 2 adopted sons of Robert Fetterly (my uncle).

I would be interested in whatever family history you have--since we are out here in the Pacific Northwest, all I have is family rumors and not facts. Thanks.
